I swear, I was sleeping on my friend Thomas’s couch a few months ago, after we’d have some beers, and right before I woke up, I had a dream of an old film reel about NASA launching a bunch of babies into space and comedian and actor Michael Ian Black being their president.
My friend Victoria asked me to draw a snail, and I think it’s pretty cute, but I think it’s also a pretty big departure from the way that the things I do usually look, which I think is pretty cool also.
I’m working on illustrations for a lengthy thing I wrote a little while ago, and I’m pretty happy with it, but it’s taking a while.
Oh dang, Potus, what will you do next?
I’ve been watching a lot of Veep recently, what’s up?
I recently ended up watching Mick Foley’s 1995 match with Terry Funk, and well, to be honest, it was one of the most compelling, and honestly kinda terrifying things I had seen in a while. Unrelentingly violent, and with a sense of a honest, desperate struggle. I ended up reading about him, and found out that he’s a genuinely great human being, and from what I can tell from interviews, other wrestling clips, and samples from his writing I’ve read, a really ernest and sweet dude.
I did this really quickly, and it’s super rough, but I really wanted to capture that aspect of him in a kinda innocent way.
Drawing this made me really happy, and I’ve been out of it a lot recently.
